Words in Motion 2013 - Feature Poem of the Day

I am…

It is cold today,
Steam rises from the ground,
The morning sun escapes the earth,
I am surrounded by frozen tundra.

But I am warm,
But I am happy.

Friends gather round today,
Falling ice crystals flatten to the ground,
I am frozen to the spinning earth,
Anticipation stretches out across the tundra.

But I am warm,
But I am happy.

It is way too early today,
We are like sentries divided across the ground,
The puck is cast upon the earth,
Cheers stretch out beyond the tundra.

I am warm,
I am happy.
